Food Distribution Drive Reaches 200+ Children in Vasai Villages
Our recent food distribution drive was a tremendous success, reaching over 200 children in several rural villages around Vasai. The initiative, led by our Chief Trustee Mr. Suresh Nair, focused on providing nutritious meal packages to children from underprivileged families.
The distribution took place across three villages in the Vasai region that have been particularly affected by the early monsoon season, which has limited work opportunities for many daily wage earners. Each child received a package containing freshly prepared meals along with fruits and biscuits.
Our volunteers observed that many children were coming to receive food without proper footwear and in worn-out clothes. This has prompted us to plan a follow-up initiative focusing on providing essential clothing and school supplies to these children.
"The smiles on these children's faces when they receive food is what keeps us motivated to continue our work," said Mr. Nair. "Many of these children come from families where regular nutritious meals are a luxury."
The trust plans to make this a weekly initiative, expanding to more villages in the coming months. We are also working on establishing a more sustainable solution by setting up community kitchens in partnership with local women's self-help groups.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all donors and volunteers who made this initiative possible. Special thanks to Sharma General Stores for donating food supplies and to the local village panchayats for their cooperation.
